"Tato" "pani" literally means "warm spring".
That's why Tatopani is better known. It was a major tourist attraction until the 1980s. Today it is not recommended to travel to Tatopani specifically for the hot springs (there are 2: Tatopani and Paudwar) , but those who come on the Annapurna Circuit must visit them.
From here the Annapurna Circuit goes up to Ghorepani and Poon Hill or further down to Beni. There is a lot of tourism here.
The Kali Ghandaki is very narrow from here and hence the gorge is deep and impressive.
In 2015 , Tatopani was also affected by the earthquake that killed nearly 9,000 people.
