The church of the Third Order of Francis dates from 1690 and was built with alms from the faithful.
The façade, where the Baroque style is already clearly visible, has a broken pediment with a cross and the coat of arms of St. Francis. The central niche shows a statue of Our Lady of the Conception.
Inside, the ceiling is vaulted in stone, the altars are gilded and the walls are tiled with hagiographic motifs drawn by Nicolau de Freitas. The main altarpiece was designed by José Calheiros de Magalhães e Andrade, a doctor who worked at the Hospital de São Marcos but devoted himself to art.
The tower is located at the back of the church (an architectural solution typical of many temples in Braga).
