12th ride from Oekene to the North Cape: from Sundsvall to Bjästa. It is a long and hilly ride of 179 kilometers and 1663 meters of elevation, especially in the first part, which is quite tough. A very beautiful ride with 20 km of well-prepared gravel road.
With its 179 km, this will be the longest ride of the journey. To avoid the E4, we are looking for smaller roads in the countryside. We cross quite a few rivers that flow into the Gulf of Bothnia, therefore moving from one valley to another. There are no high mountains but still hills up to 400m that we navigate between.
Bjästa is a place in the municipality of Örnsköldsvik in the province of Västernorrlands län and has 1,785 inhabitants. The place is located by the river Nätraån and is near, but not by the Gulf of Bothnia.
