The Plaza de España square, redesigned in 2011, has been the favorite place of residents since the beginning to meet, rest or organize games and parties.
The entrance is guarded by the two most important cultural assets: Santa Úrsula Church and the Monastery . The square itself is, as it were, the entrance to the Barranco del Infierno nature reserve.
There is now a large tower in the square, a tribute to the very first Adejeros, with a bell that will ring on special and solemn occasions. You will also find a stage, a green zone, a road to the Barranco del Infierno and a connection to the Plaza del Emigrante , behind the town hall.
This architectural intervention on the Plaza de España in Adeje was also a finalist at the European Awards for Urban Public Space , because it is an example of a contemporary intervention on a historic site.
