El Canal hacia Beverlo debía conectar el canal Bocholt-Herentals con el campamento de Beverlo, pero el canal se detiene cerca del centro de Leopoldsburg. El canal de 15 kilómetros de largo fue excavado entre 1857 y 1859, pero no llegó lo suficientemente lejos. El canal solo es importante para el turismo: la recreación acuática florece y los amantes de las bicicletas disfrutan de la naturaleza a lo largo de la idílica ribera.
