Deshollinadores, orfebres, fabricantes de sillas… las calles del complejo Cité Hellemans hacen referencia a los antiguos oficios del barrio popular de las Marolles. En la inauguración en 1915, Cité Hellemans, nombrada en honor al arquitecto Émile Hellemans, es el primer importante proyecto de vivienda social gestionado por la ciudad de Bruselas.
