La capilla en la muralla del fuerte es la conocida como Achterkapelleke. Fue construida a mediados del siglo XIX por las hermanas benedictinas que se establecieron aquí en 1690.
Durante tres siglos han cuidado a pacientes psiquiátricos. Es en honor a estas hermanas que se llama a la calle Benedictinessenstraat.
En el Achterkapelleke se encuentra la imagen de Nuestra Señora de las Fortificaciones.
