La iglesia original estaba en realidad en el pequeño terreno donde ahora aparcan los coches, en el antiguo cementerio se construyó la actual iglesia en 1922, después de las destrucciones durante la Primera Guerra Mundial.
La iglesia es neogótica y fue diseñada por el dúo de arquitectos de Ostende Pil y Carbon. Frente a la antigua iglesia se encontraba el patio de los señores de Westende (el domus Weinini).
Hoy hay un edificio nuevo, por lo que de la antigua colina con su patio superior e inferior ya no queda nada.
