La chiesa originale si trovava in realtà nel piccolo terreno dove ora parcheggiano le auto, sull'ex cimitero fu costruita l'attuale chiesa nel 1922, dopo le distruzioni durante la prima guerra mondiale.
La chiesa è in stile neogotico ed è stata progettata dal duo di architetti di Ostenda Pil e Carbon. Di fronte alla vecchia chiesa si trovava il cortile dei signori di Westende (il domus Weinini).
Oggi c'è un edificio di nuova costruzione, quindi non rimane più traccia dell'originaria collina con l'alta e la bassa corte.
