El área natural Den Bunt se encuentra en una esquina formada por el Escalda y el Durme. El bosque de dominio de 18 hectáreas Driegoten se extiende desde la base de la duna del Escalda, entre el monumento De Pillecyn y la aldea Driegoten. El escritor Filip De Pillecyn, nacido y criado en Hamme, se inspiró en su región natal en sus novelas 'El barquero y la dama' y 'Las personas detrás de las dikes'.
