La zone naturelle de Den Bunt se situe dans un coin formé par l'Escaut et la Durme. Le domaine forestier de Driegoten, qui s'étend sur 18 hectares, se trouve au pied de la digue de l'Escaut, entre le monument De Pillecyn et le hameau de Driegoten. L'écrivain Filip De Pillecyn, né et ayant grandi à Hamme, s'est inspiré de sa région natale dans ses romans 'Le passeur et la dame' et 'Des gens derrière les dykes'.
