La Baraque Michel es una localidad situada en la meseta de los Altos Páramos. Es el tercer punto más alto de Bélgica y de la Región Valona, con una altitud de 674 metros.
La Baraque Michel fue fundada entre 1811 y 1813 por un hombre llamado Michel Schmitz de Herbiester (un pequeño pueblo cerca de Jalhay). En ese momento, ya era una posada, pero también un refugio para viajeros perdidos.
En días de niebla, se tocaba la campana allí, lo que llevó al rescate de más de un centenar de personas durante el siglo XIX.
Hoy en día, La Baraque sigue siendo el hogar de una posada y es el punto de partida para muchas rutas de senderismo a través de los Páramos que la rodean.
