En los bosques de Sixtus, el roble de verano es el más común, pero localmente también encontramos castaño dulce, fresno común, abedul rugoso, cerezo dulce y cornejo. En la capa de arbustos prosperan principalmente el avellano, el cornejo europeo, la rosa de Gelderland, el saúco y el nébeda. Quien busque bien, también encontrará el raro espino de dos estambres, el nispelo y la rosa silvestre. Se cosechan las semillas del nébeda autóctono, la rosa de Gelderland y el avellano para cultivarlas en otros bosques.
Además, pasamos junto a la zona de juegos de 2,5 hectáreas. Aquí los jóvenes pueden jugar a sus anchas, alejados de los caminos.
