Zandpoort, Herentals
La Zandpoort en Herentals fue construida en el siglo XIV con piedra de Gobertange. Es un vestigio de la antigua muralla de la ciudad. Las fuentes iconográficas representan esta puerta como un edificio con fachada redondeada del lado del campo. Sin embargo, en el siglo XVIII la puerta fue completamente remodelada y recibió una fachada recta. Una parte de la puerta desapareció entonces bajo tierra. Sin embargo, detrás de la nueva fachada seguía siendo visible el inicio de la fachada redondeada. La puerta fue protegida como monumento en 1936.
