Esta iglesia es considerada la iglesia de los jesuitas más importante de Bélgica (1650-1666). Es conocida gracias al jesuita antioqueño Guillaume Hesius. El edificio ha sido completamente restaurado. Solo la fachada escapó a los bombardeos de la Segunda Guerra Mundial en 1944.
La elegante fachada barroca se describe como ‘el altar fuera de la iglesia’ y pertenece a las Siete Maravillas de Lovaina.
En el interior, los ornamentos tallados dominan todo el espacio. El conjunto de esculturas de madera es notable; entre ellas, las ocho confesionales, unidas por un alto revestimiento de roble. El pulpito en estilo Luis XV proviene de la catedral de San Miguel en Bruselas.
El altar está decorado con la pintura "La aparición de la Virgen Santa a Santo Tomás de Aquino".
La iglesia ahora se utiliza para servicios en español y es un escenario para iniciativas artísticas.
