El Parque de las Cabras se encuentra junto al 'Gran Bastión', una reservorio de agua que se construyó entre 1863 y 1865. El Gran Bastión es la mayor área verde en el centro de Roeselare. Las cabras ya lo sabían mucho antes, ¡de ahí su nombre! En el parque se encuentra la ubicación de la hermandad de tiradores con arco 'San Sebastián', de ahí también los nombres 'Parque de San Sebastián' y la 'Calle Gaaipers' cercana.
