Le Geitenpark (parc des chèvres) est situé à côté du ‘Grote Bassin’, un réservoir d’eau construit en 1863-1865. Le ‘Grote Bassin’ est le plus grand espace vert au centre de Roeselare. Les chèvres le savaient déjà il y a très longtemps – d’où le nom! Le parc abrite aussi le siège de la guilde des arbalétriers ‘Sint Sebastiaan’ – c’est pourquoi on parle parfois du ‘Sint Sebastiaanspark’ et de la ‘Gaaipersstraat’ pas loin de là.
