En el mapa de Ferraris de 1778, esta área estaba marcada como wastine o tierra yerta. Entre 2008 y 2010, se talaron nuevamente 3 hectáreas de bosque aquí. Los tocones de los árboles fueron desbrozados y la capa de hojarasca fue eliminada. La semilla de brezo puede mantener su capacidad de germinación hasta 100 años. Para mantener la brezales, esta pequeña área es pastoreada por ovejas. Los estanques son el biotopo ideal para ranas, salamandras y libélulas.
