En 2012, cuatro amigos cerveceros decidieron participar en la Competencia de Cerveza Brouwland con su deliciosa triple. De una selección de más de 90 cervezas, su Bryggja fue elegida por un jurado profesional como la mejor cerveza artesanal de Bélgica. A finales de 2014, se tomó la decisión de ir a por todas y comenzar su propia cervecería. La cervecería Bryggja trabaja únicamente con lúpulo belga y, por lo tanto, también puede utilizar el logotipo oficial. Su cerveza es un producto artesanal, no utilizan extractos, ni potenciadores de sabor o espuma. Una visita con degustación es posible contactando por teléfono.
