La fortaleza de Barchon se hundió debido a los asaltos del ejército alemán el 8 de agosto de 1914. En 1940, su resistencia fue más fuerte. Del 10 al 18 de mayo, la fortaleza inflige repetidamente golpes al enemigo, que responde con un bombardeo constante de artillería y Stukas.
Abierto el segundo domingo de cada mes a las 14h de abril a noviembre. La visita comienza con una proyección de diapositivas y termina con una visita al museo.
