La impresionante puerta de entrada del edificio recuerda que aquí alguna vez hubo un correo de posta. Fue fundado en 1789 por Antoine Gillard. Los cocheros que pasaban la noche en la posada aprovechaban la oportunidad para cambiar de caballos. Después de ser famoso durante dos siglos por su cocina local, el sitio ha sido recientemente transformado en habitaciones de huéspedes.
Su aspecto actual lo adquirió en el siglo XIX cuando la estructura de madera se ocultó tras una capa de yeso.
