Inaugurado en 1923, este cementerio contiene las tumbas de 1200 soldados franceses que cayeron durante las batallas de 1914.
El monumento a Assaut (reverso) de Alexandre Daoust representa la reconquista de la ciudadela por parte de los franceses el 15 de agosto de 1914. Más concretamente, está dedicado al sargento mayor Bouchez , que capturó la bandera alemana ondeando sobre la ciudadela.
