Kreekruggen, Brugse Steenweg, Noord-ede: hasta principios del siglo XVII, el Noord-Ede se dirigía hacia Brujas desde la Palingpot (Klemskerke). Durante el drenaje en el siglo XVII, para el desagüe de la ‘Watering van Blankenberge’, este curso de agua natural se conectó con la ‘Creecke’ de Bredene. Esta se extendía desde el mar hasta la Blauwe Sluis y Plassendale, y más tarde se llamó “Sluisvliet”. Posteriormente, se utilizó el nombre “Noord-Ede” hasta su desembocadura en el canal del puerto de Ostende.
