Inspirado por pasantías en Bolivia y Senegal, Dries decidió hace aproximadamente veinte años ir en contra de la tendencia dominante de cada vez más y más grande. Optó decididamente por el modelo agroecológico. Lo particular del enfoque de Dries es que cultiva flores, hierbas, frutas y verduras biológicas (comestibles) según los ritmos de las estaciones, sin matar organismos vivos. A través de un mercado agrícola semanal en su empresa, ofrece a sus colegas agricultores ecológicos una plataforma para llevar sus productos directamente al consumidor a través de la cadena corta.
