Wesel (en holandés (obsoleto): Wezel) es una ciudad histórica (fortificada) y la capital del distrito homónimo de Wesel en el estado federado de Renania del Norte-Westfalia, Alemania. Wesel se encuentra a orillas del río Rin, situada entre la cuenca del Ruhr y la frontera holandesa en Bocholt. La ciudad tiene 60.750 habitantes. Wesel tiene fuertes lazos con los Países Bajos y su historia. Durante la Toma de Wesel (1629), la ciudad fue liberada de la ocupación española. Durante la Guerra de los Ochenta Años, la ciudad tuvo un gran número de refugiados protestantes neerlandeses que huían de las persecuciones españolas.
