Wesel (Olandese (obsoleto): Wezel) è una storica città fortificata e capitale dell'omonimo distretto di Wesel nel Land della Renania Settentrionale-Vestfalia, Germania. Wesel si trova lungo il fiume Reno, situata tra la regione della Ruhr e il confine olandese presso Bocholt. La città conta 60.750 abitanti. Wesel ha forti legami con i Paesi Bassi e la sua storia. Durante la Reconquista di Wesel (1629), la città fu liberata dall'occupazione spagnola. Durante la Guerra degli Ottant'anni, la città ospitò un numero elevato di rifugiati protestanti olandesi fuggiti dalle persecuzioni spagnole.
