La antigua aldea independiente de Petzow es desde el 1 de enero de 1929 un barrio de la ciudad de Werder en el distrito de Potsdam-Mittelmark en Brandeburgo.
En 1419, el pueblo fue mencionado por primera vez en documentos. Petzow pertenecía entonces a los duques de Sajonia-Wittenberg. En 1437, la aldea pasó como feudo al monasterio cisterciense de Lehnin. Debido a la secularización, en 1542 la aldea se convirtió en una aldea administrativa de la oficina de Lehnin, al mismo tiempo que pasó a ser de propiedad brandeburguesa.
