Het voormalige zelfstandige dorp Petzow is sinds 1 januari 1929 een deelgemeente van de stad Werder in de Landkreis Potsdam-Mittelmark in Brandenburg.
Het dorp werd in 1419 voor het eerst in documenten vermeld. Petzow behoorde toen toe aan de hertogen van Saksen-Wittenberg. In 1437 ging het dorp als leengoed naar het cisterciënzersklooster Lehnin. Door de secularisatie werd het dorp in 1542 een ambtsdorp van het ambt Lehnin, tegelijkertijd kwam het dorp in Brandenburgse handen.
