El Ángel de la Paz es un recordatorio de los 25 años pacíficos después de la guerra franco-alemana de 1870/71. El monumento con su pequeño templo muestra los retratos de los emperadores alemanes Guillermo I, Federico III, Guillermo II, los gobernantes bávaros Luis II, Otón y Luitpoldo, el canciller imperial Otto von Bismarck y los generales Helmuth von Moltke, Albrecht von Roon, Ludwig von der Tann, Jakob von Hartmann y Siegmund von Pranckh. En el interior del templo hay mosaicos de oro que representan las alegorías de la guerra y la paz, la victoria y la bendición para la cultura.
