La presa de Pöhl es la segunda más grande en términos de volumen de almacenamiento y la tercera más grande en cuanto a la altura de la estructura de contención y la superficie del agua en Sajonia. La presa se utiliza para la protección contra inundaciones, el suministro de agua potable, el aumento del caudal en épocas de sequía, la generación de energía y el esparcimiento.
La pared de la presa de Pöhl es una presa de peso curvada hecha de hormigón. La presa fue construida entre 1958 y 1964 cerca de Jocketa en el Vogtland. La presa lleva su nombre de la localidad de Pöhl, que ahora se encuentra bajo el agua. Sin embargo, el lugar sumergido sirve como atracción para el buceo. El cuerpo de agua embalsado, el Trieb, es un afluente de la Weißen Elster.
