La Gobert es una elevación rocosa y boscosa de Muschelkalk de 569 m sobre el nivel del mar en la región natural de la "Cuenca de Turingia" en el distrito de Werra-Meißner y el distrito de Eichsfeld, en la frontera entre Hesse y Turingia.
En la parte hessiana de la Gobert se encuentra la Suiza Hesse en Meinhard, una de las áreas de deslizamiento de tierra más grandes de Alemania, y en su territorio de Turingia el parque natural de 870 km² Eichsfeld-Hainich-Werratal.
