La Gobert est une crête rocheuse et boisée de calcaire coquillier culminant à 569 m au-dessus du niveau de la mer dans la région naturelle « Bassin de Thuringe » dans le district de Werra-Meißner et le district d'Eichsfeld à la frontière entre Hesse et Thuringe.
Dans la partie hessoise de la Gobert se trouve la Suisse hessoise près de Meinhard, l'une des plus grandes zones de glissement de terrain d'Allemagne, et dans sa zone thuringienne, le parc naturel Eichsfeld-Hainich-Werratal de 870 km².
