La reserva natural de Mittelweser se encuentra en el lado izquierdo del Weser entre los distritos de Ovenstädt y Hävern de la ciudad de Petershagen. El área tiene aproximadamente 91 hectáreas de tamaño y se registra bajo el número MI-024.
El propósito de la protección es la conservación y la restauración de comunidades biológicas y hábitats de ciertas plantas silvestres y especies de animales salvajes.
