Het natuurreservaat Mittelweser ligt aan de linkerkant van de Weser tussen de stadsdelen Ovenstädt en Hävern van de stad Petershagen. Het gebied is ongeveer 91 hectare groot en wordt geregistreerd onder nummer MI-024.
Het doel van de bescherming is het behoud en de ontwikkeling van gemeenschappen en leefgebieden van bepaalde in het wild levende planten en dieren.
