La réserve naturelle de Mittelweser est située sur la rive gauche de la Weser entre les quartiers d'Ovenstädt et de Hävern de la ville de Petershagen. La zone couvre environ 91 hectares et est référencée sous le numéro MI-024.
L'objectif de la protection est de préserver et de rétablir des communautés de vie et des habitats de certaines espèces de plantes sauvages et d'animaux sauvages.
