La estación de Ueckermünde era originalmente el punto final de la línea de ferrocarril Jatznick–Ueckermünde en la ciudad portuaria homónima, situada al sureste del centro de la ciudad. Desde 2009, los trenes continúan circulando por una antigua vía de conexión portuaria. Allí se crearon dos nuevas paradas, Ueckermünde en la estación de autobuses y Ueckermünde Stadthafen, cerca del casco antiguo y directamente en el puerto de la ciudad. La antigua estación de Ueckermünde fue cerrada. Su edificio de recepción y algunos edificios secundarios están protegidos como monumentos.
La estación, ubicada en el kilómetro de la línea 162,3, fue inaugurada el 15 de septiembre de 1884 junto con el tramo completo. Desde la estación se creó en dirección noroeste una línea de conexión al puerto de Ueckermünde.
En 1952, trabajó en la estación de Ueckermünde la primera mujer en el cargo de jefa de servicios de la Deutsche Reichsbahn.
