El VEB Astilleros "Edgar André" de Magdeburgo existió desde 1922 hasta 1970 y luego fue escindido en el VEB Kombinat de Tecnología del Aire y Refrigeración de Dresde.
Las primeras planificaciones para un astillero de reparación de la Administración de Construcción del Elba en Magdeburgo se remontan a 1903. En 1912 comenzó la excavación del puerto de la astilleros, y en 1922 la Astilleros Estatal de Rothensee del Departamento de Máquinas Prusiano comenzó sus operaciones.
