El Scharfenstein es una roca de aproximadamente 25 metros de altura en la Sierra de Zittau. Su cúspide se encuentra a 569 metros. Debido a su forma distintiva, también se le llama "Matterhorn de Lusacia" o "Matterhorn de Alta Lusacia". La roca ha sido equipada con escaleras y peldaños por el lado sur y es una de las rocas de mirador más conocidas de la Sierra de Zittau.
El Scharfenstein se encuentra al este del balneario de Oybin en la cresta de la montaña entre Brandhöhe al sur y Töpfer al norte, en la intersección de varios senderos. Las formaciones rocosas cercanas son la Felsengasse y la Kleine Felsengasse. A los pies de la roca hay una placa con información geológica y un refugio.
