En la comarca de Eggenstedt, en el norte de la Börde de Magdeburgo, se encuentra la fuente de agua más al sur de Aller. Cerca de Eggenstedt, la cordillera boscosa de Hohes Holz en Edelberg alcanza los 209 m sobre el nivel del mar. La ciudad de Oschersleben está a unos 10 km, y la capital del estado Magdeburgo a unos 30 km de Eggenstedt.
El 1 de enero de 2010, las comunidades que hasta entonces eran independientes, Eggenstedt, Bottmersdorf, Domersleben, Dreileben, Groß Rodensleben, Hohendodeleben, Klein Rodensleben, así como las ciudades de Seehausen y Wanzleben, se unieron para formar la nueva ciudad de Wanzleben-Börde.
