En la oficina de Zarrentin se han reunido cuatro municipios y la ciudad de Zarrentin am Schaalsee para llevar a cabo sus asuntos administrativos. La oficina se encuentra en el noroeste del distrito de Ludwigslust-Parchim en Mecklemburgo-Pomerania Occidental y limita con el distrito de Herzogtum Lauenburg en Schleswig-Holstein.
La oficina no dispone de un símbolo oficial autorizado, ni escudo ni bandera. Como sello oficial se utiliza el pequeño sello estatal con la imagen del escudo de la parte del país de Mecklemburgo. Muestra la cabeza de un toro mirando con piel de cuello desgarrada y una corona, y la inscripción "AMT ZARRENTIN".
