Tortosa es un municipio de la provincia de Tarragona en la comunidad autónoma de Cataluña en España. Es la capital de la comarca del Bajo Ebro. Es sede episcopal y constituye un importante centro agrícola, comercial e industrial. El municipio lo constituyen Jesús, Bítem, els Reguers, Campredó y Vinallop. Tortosa es cabeza de partido judicial y en la actualidad tienen su sede en ella buena parte de los servicios territoriales de la Generalidad de Cataluña en las Tierras del Ebro al configurarse su territorio como una veguería.
