El Ter es un río en Cataluña, España, que comienza en los Pirineos en Ull de Ter (2480 m de altura), atraviesa la ciudad de Girona y desemboca en el mar Mediterráneo cerca de Torroella de Montgrí. La desembocadura también se conoce como La Gola. El río tiene una longitud de 208 km y una cuenca de 3001 km², lo que lo convierte en el río más grande de Cataluña. Junto con el Muga y el Fluvià, ha formado en la desembocadura la gran llanura aluvial de Empordà. El río se une con la La Maçana y se dirige hacia Girona, donde los ríos Güell y Onyar desembocan en el Ter. Se puede pescar carpas después de un paseo de cuatro kilómetros hasta la desembocadura. Las capturas diarias de 45 kg son muy comunes.
