Una verdadera cuna cultural como Arcos no puede prescindir de un teatro pequeño en aforo pero grande en la calidad de sus representaciones.
El teatro está situado cerca de Plaça Boticas. Fue inaugurado por Su Majestad la Reina Sofía en 1993 tras una larga restauración.
Fue construido entre 1910 y 1912 con el auspicio del Círculo de la Unión de la ciudad, que contó con la colaboración, proyectos y estudios de sus miembros. José Olivares Veas y D. Manuel García Soria, de ahí el nombre del teatro.
