Lugar importante durante el Desembarco de Normandía, la batería de Merville fue uno de los objetivos estratégicos asaltados la noche del 5 al 6 de junio de 1944 por los paracaidistas británicos de la 6ª Aerotransportada.
Con una mezcla de emoción, educación e inmersión, la visita ayuda a los visitantes a comprender la importancia estratégica de esta posición alemana y el valor de los hombres que la asaltaron en la víspera del Día D.
