El castillo de Pagax se encuentra en la antigua provincia de Rouergue y en el límite del cercano Quercy. Domina el valle del Lot desde las alturas de la aldea de Flagnac en Aveyron. Su arquitectura es típica de las fortalezas de los siglos XII y XIII, con un cuerpo de vivienda de planta cuadrada elevado sobre tres pisos por encima de un sótano ciego, flanqueado por cuatro torres esquineras masivas unidas por machicolaciones.
