El Hérisson fluye al final de un desfiladero en siete cascadas desde una altura de 805 metros a un total de 280 m de profundidad. Un sendero marcado pasa junto a numerosas cascadas, estanques y cuevas. La Cascade de l'Éventail y la Cascade du Grand Saut son los puntos culminantes del recorrido de 3,7 km.
El nivel del agua del Hérisson varía según la temporada. En épocas de bajo caudal, las cascadas son menos imponentes, pero en el fondo del arroyo se hacen visibles formaciones extrañas.
