El famoso château perteneciente al Marqués de Sade se encuentra en Lacoste.
En 1771, el marqués huyó de París para escapar de los escándalos creados por su escritura erótica y su comportamiento extravagante (demasiado liberal para la época).
Vino a Lacoste y buscó refugio en el château que pertenecía a su abuelo. Este enorme château del siglo XI, en parte en ruinas, pertenecía a un profesor que lo ha estado restaurando durante más de 30 años. Hoy en día, el château pertenece a M. Pierre Cardin, el famoso diseñador estilista.
