El hospital fue fundado en 1237 por el Hermano Roberto, un religioso de la Orden Hospitalaria del Espíritu Santo venido de Roma, y hasta la Revolución acogió a los pobres, los enfermos y las viudas de las hermanas de Neufchâteau.
De esta fundación hospitalaria medieval, la única de los Vosgos, sólo se conserva la capilla, modificada y ampliada.
Fue propiedad del hospital hasta 1998 antes de ser transferido a la ciudad.
Se pueden ver: un tabernáculo de roble dorado y pintado de 1706, un retablo de la Adoración de los Reyes Magos (finales del siglo XV o principios del XVI), losas funerarias...
