L'ospedale fu fondato nel 1237 da Fra Roberto, un religioso dell'Ordine Ospedaliero dello Spirito Santo proveniente da Roma, e fino alla Rivoluzione accolse i poveri, i malati e le vedove dalle suore di Neufchâteau.
Di questa fondazione ospedaliera medievale, l'unica nei Vosgi, rimane solo la cappella, modificata e ampliata.
È stato di proprietà dell'ospedale fino al 1998, prima di essere trasferito alla città.
Da vedere: un tabernacolo in rovere dorato e dipinto del 1706, una pala d'altare con l'Adorazione dei Magi (fine del XV o inizio del XVI secolo), lastre funerarie...
