El cuartel "Bellevue", construido por la ciudad en 1911, constaba de una veintena de edificios destinados a albergar tres batallones. El 174º Regimiento de Infantería se trasladó el 1 de julio de 1911. Después de 1918, el cuartel tomó el nombre de "Bataille" en memoria del general Henri Jules Bataille (1816-1882) que se había distinguido al frente de la 2ª División durante la batalla de Forbach-Spicheren el 6 de agosto de 1870.
